Our condoms are electronically-tested for safety. When used correctly every time you have oral, anal, or vaginal sex, condoms are over 98% effective. But, because humans make mistakes, condoms are usually about 87% effective.

There’s a very slim chance that a condom breaks during intercourse, but it can happen. Luckily, there’s things you can do to avoid condom breakage like keeping them away from heat and light, not opening them with anything sharp (like scissors or teeth), and avoid using additional oils or lotions on them (our condoms are already lubricated). 

There’s no one “right” way to have sex, but there is a right way to use a condom. Follow these steps to make sure you’re having safe sex.

1. Ask for, and receive, consent!
2. Check the expiration date of the condom. 
3. Check the wrapper to see if there’s any holes or disturbances to the wrapper. If so, don’t use it. 
4. Remove the condom from the package and squeeze air from the tip of the condom.
5. Roll the condom all the way down to the base of the erect penis. 
6. Have sex! (The best step).
7. After ejaculation, hold the rim of the condom and withdraw. 
8. Wrap the condom in a tissue, throw it out, and wash your hands.

It’s a great idea to keep a condom in a safe and accessible place when you’re on the go. But make sure it’s stored somewhere where it won’t get crushed, ripped, or tarnished.
